Guard:
Our best players are Hinrich and Gordon, and they will get starter's
minutes, whether Gordon starts or not. Duhon and Hinrich will play
some together, and that might still be Skiles's starting combo. I
don't think the Duhon/Gordon pairing works well except for
situationally, though, so I expect Duhon's minutes to decrease
noticeably. Sefolosha could combo with any of the three. I don't see
Deng factoring in significantly unless Sefolosha is seriously
unprepared.
Forward:
Nocioni and Deng are our best players, but they are both more natural
SFs. Nobody else should play the 3; we'll need every minute we can get
for those two. When they are both on the floor, Nocioni will slide
over to the PF. The rest of the time at PF will be divvied up between
Sweetney, Thomas, and Chandler. Ultimately, Thomas will be expected to
earn the lion's share of that time, but that's not likely to happen
this season. Still, unless someone gets moved, there's no reason to be
looking at acquiring someone like Gooden. Of course, the same logic
applies to Khryapa, so what do I know?
Center:
Chandler will see some time here as a backup. Beyond that, we are all
assuming that this year's starting center is not on the roster yet.
