The last one has stats for his Italian league, but they don't match the
stats that the nba.com site has, so I don't know what to make of that.
Here's my distillation of what I've read.
- Amazing rebounder. REB/48 is somewhere above Nocioni but below
Sweetney. If he gets even half that in the NBA, he'll be one of the
best rebounding guards.
- Very strong defense. STL/48 and BLK/48 are in the Marion/Gerald
Wallace range, and has a reputation of solid defense (not just
gambling). Can defend 1-3, and was generally assigned to the opposing
team's best player at those positions.
- Ballhandling/playmaking is supposedly one of his strengths (he's
supposed to be able to play some point), but it has not shown up in his
assist numbers.
- Free throws are pathetic for a guard.
- Not a scorer. Has a 17 in my personal shooting frequency stat,
compared to 20-21 for most starters, ~25 for instant offense guys like
Gordon, and 30+ for true ballhogs like Kobe.
- Better at catch-and-shoot than shooting on the move. Just developed
European three point range this year.
So I see him as a Duhon at the SG spot, with the potential to develop
beyond that. I would expect him to get 15-20 mpg as a rookie.
