I don't either. But better much better than the risk of letting 'Sheed walk
this summer, if the rumor was true about his turning down the extension
offer.

So what does the rotation look like?
Poor Miles, back to the bench....
So tag team Davis and Ratliff at center.
Randolph, SAR at PF
SAR, Patterson, woods at SF
DA and Miles at SG
Damon and a small herd of backup PGs...last week they had one PG now they
have 4

Miles has been playing good. Hell, the whole team has been playing good,
this should sure put them in a funk for a few games. Damn, sorry to see

I attended Monday Night Raw in Portland tonight and was sitting right
behind the several Blazers including Zach, Miles, Rasheed, Cook, and
Patterson. At approximately 7:30 Rasheed disappeared and 5-10 minutes
later Wesley Person walked up behind me and pulled Zach next to me and
said good bye- Sheed and I just got traded to Atlanta for Theo Ratlife
and Shareef Abdur-Rahim. Zach was stunned, He then leaned over and told
PAtterson and he looked like he saw a ghost. Everyone seemed to be in
disbelief, except for Miles who never shows any emotion, EVER. Kind of
funny, after the show was over a few wrestlers stayed out for the crowd
and Rasheed's name was mentioned several times in connection with the
Blazers as well as a few cheap shots about marijuana. >> Stay informed about: 'Sheed to the hawks |

Kinda funny, they just talked about it on ESPN and used the Blazer website
as their official source to say that this trade has been consummated.
Aldridge is apparently going to break it down here pretty soon. >> Stay informed about: 'Sheed to the hawks |

aldridge says sheed won't stay in atlanta after this year and they'll be a
major player in free agency... brandon's salary also drops. they're talking
kobe and others to atlanta. approximately 50 mill will be dropped off
atlanta's salary.
aldridge seems to like the trade for both teams... he really loves rahim, as
do I. level-headed bloc, helluva player in college, consistent in the nba.
I only wonder what happens to miles now... I guess 6th man.
theo, zbo, rahim, da, damon.... not a bad roster... we got the 7 footer i've
been hoping for.
we can be a playoff team with this roster. would be better with sheed at PF
instead of zach, but we have a bright future I think. maybe not a
championship team, but probably more of a contender than we were with the
size in the middle.... we really don't lose much when you stack up sheed to
rahim in my opinion. rahim's younger, gets better stats, more equipped to
play SF. we'll have some good chemistry now.
good trade.

What 7 footer would that be? Ratliff is an inch shorter than Wallace and no
heavier.

Only rip on SAR is if he is so good why does he not make his teams better?
They always have 20 wins....
Remains to be seen if he will florish on the Blazers. I do like him and hope
he fits.

And how do you figure the chemistry will be good? We have no clue yet on how
this will work out. It takes away Miles and Woods development too.

Rasheed for 2 guys who are both pretty good, neither as good as
Rasheed. SAR for offense and Ratliff for defense I guess.
Wallace wasn't going to resign with the blazers I don't believe....no
way. He would have simply walked so the blazers actually got something
for him. And of all the trades that were discussed....dallas, NY,
Gstate.....this one is probably the best.
I guess chemistry will be a big ? now....how will the new guys mesh.
I'm glad Ratliff is part of it....I'm no fan of DD.....his game has
become rather weak.
So, now there is no Rasheed to guard Garnet, and Duncan, and
Nowitski.....Ratliff can block shots so maybe the overall defense
won't suffer too much.
The major drawback to this trade is that with both Person and Wallace
gone, Portland's 3-point threat has become Damon.....I think they will
struggle quite a bit on offense as their opponents simply pack it
inside. >> Stay informed about: 'Sheed to the hawks |

If Ratliff stays healthy. He has for a season and a half, but the history
is pretty bad.

Seems a slight mess, perhaps they are not done.

His FGP and 3 pt % is the same as Damon's.

DAs 3pt career and season average is below damons. This year that same 30%
They will desperately need a shooter.

Could you imagine being a Hawk fan? Beat Dallas and lose 2 ex all-star
starters in the same night. You would have to wonder what the hell was
up with that.
Good timing at the break. Hawks are off already so they likely wanted
the trade right away. I wouldn't be surprised if SAR or Rat sit out vs
the Nuggets too.
IMO the secret to success for the Blazers, more now than before, is
whether the post can handle a double team. Sheed excelled at it, Zach
and Dale both struggle. What about SAR or Rat? >> Stay informed about: 'Sheed to the hawks |

Not a problem, there are no hawks fans, at least ones that buy tickets...

More likely they come off the bench their first game. But they will get one
practice.

No one will double Ratliff, he is not an offensive threat. I hope SAR will
help Zach in that he will also demand a double team?

I know some hawks fans and they hate it, but they also know there's talk of
new ownership and after this year, they'll see about 50 mill drop off their
payroll, so they're going to be players in free agency.
