I heard a rumor that Sloan may be retiring at the end of this season.
That will be a big loss to the NBA.

Does Sloan hold the record for longest coaching tenure with a single
NBA club?

He was a great player and has been a great coach. He's certainly
earned the right to leave in a manner and time of his own choosing.

I understad that he has the longest current streak, but he doesn't
have the record for all major american sports. just off the top of my
head, Walter Alston managed the Dodgers for 23 consecutive seasons and
Connie Mack managed the Athletics for 50.
