The Good:
Blount: Well he certainly has the best offensive repoitre of any
Wolves center I can remember. If he plays with the motivation he did in
this game, he's worth the contract.

Davis: took some horrendous shots, but makes up for it with his
slashing ability. The Wolves have never had a wing player that can
slash like he does.

Jaric's first half. Too bad he faded in the second.

EG's Defense.

The Bad:
Hassell was abused by Parker and Ginobli. Ginobli socred 5 straight
points on Hassell in the 4th where Hassell wasn't even in the same zip
code after Manu made his move.

KG getting abused by Duncan. First Gasol, now Duncan. KG is having a
tough time with elite PFs. Duncan had his way with KG when KG gaurded
him. And I still can't figure out how Rasho is able to so easily
muscle KG. This is the second game in a rwo that he had no problem
guarding KG.

The missed layup by Davis, after making a great rush to the basket,
that would have closed the gap to 3 in the 4th. It all went down hill
after that.

The killer was Finley's 3.

What I liked was Justin Reed. This is the banger the Wolves have
lacked. I also thought Blount's rebounding was not as bad as
advertised.

3 plays stood out as positives. JR (smirk) driving down the lane hell
bent for the basket and drew 3 defenders to him, and drew the foul.
Fearless spunk, forcing the action in the paint. I had to rub my eyes
in disbelief.

Two times Eddie Griffin, and Reed met Duncan at the rim and challenged
him, showing no defference for his super star status. Bravo. I think
Reed has the chance to really contribute, especially giving the Wolves
a physical presence under the basket on defense. 6'8" hard body that
the wolves need badly. It was another loss to the Spurs but I saw a lot
of hopeful things. Most important, the Wolves were competing on no rest.

Parker pretty much abuses everybody, but the
stupid thing is assigning Trenton to guard the
PG (like Iverson before him). You'd think Casey
would have learned from the 1st SA game. So,
I guess that makes three people "abusing"
Hassell.

Will review the plays.

Knees. Ankles. Weak offensive plan by Casey.

The *real* bad: Putting Blount on the floor with Troy Hudson.
The team just seems to immediately go south. This pattern
was evident in the Houston game, then repeated vs SA. I do
not have an explanation at the moment.

I can see what Casey is thinking. Hassell has better lateral movement
than Jaric (or T-Hud). While Jaric is a good defender, he has a tough
time against Parker. So move Jaric to a guy he can guard and hope
Hassell has more success against Parker. The Wolves are in a no win no
matter who guards Parker.

Excuse after excuse for KG. It wasn't just offense. KG was not good
defensively either. He was completely overmatched by Duncan.

I'm willing to give Casey a little time to figure out lineups with this
squad.
