It was indeed a great game by Bird. I don't think Jackson's injured;
the LA Times said she's still in Australia due to a sick grandmother.

The Storm usually seem very energized whenever they play the Sparks,
both in terms of playing hard and in terms of fisticuffs. It was a
couple of years ago the Latasha Byears and Michelle Marciniak (then
with the Storm) got into it. Byears and Marciniak -- there was a pair
of "girls most likely to" -- most likely to get into a fight. Dixon
and Lennox, also no surprise, although in their case it's simple
intensity, whereas Byears always seemed to have a chip-on-her-shoulder
thuggish attitude (I did like watching her play though, the Charles
Barkley of the WNBA, although without the offensive skills), and
Marciniak seemed to specialize in antagonizing opponents. Dixon and
Lennox don't seem particularly hostile or violent, just intense and
feisty.

I think they played only 7 players against the Storm. Great, exciting
game. Most exciting WNBA game that I've seen in person (there've been
some more exciting ones that I've seen on TV, e.g. Weatherspoon's and
Teasley's last second game winners).
