Thomas is 6-10 or so (IIRC). His primary position is SF, but because of
his athleticism he can play a passable PF or SG for small stretches.
In relation to the Bucks, he played behind Glenn Robinson for a long time
and so was moved to PF to get more playing time (in much the same way Tony
Kukoc is now playing PF and C at times for the Bucks). When Robinson was
traded, Thomas was outperformed by Desmond Mason at the SF position, who
has some of the same skills with less height.
I don't think anyone disputes that Thomas has the talent to be a very-good
SF, but color me skeptical on the belief that Thomas was used incorrectly
for all the Bucks and Sixers years.

Because basketball is a team sport and his coach told him to. In the middle
of a game. And instead of doing what his coach told him to do and discuss
it with him later, crybaby Thomas had a hissy fit on the bench and refused
to go in. Very mature. Very Allen Iverson of him. Or maybe AI is very Tim

Well I was unaware of this and I guess that would be immature but what
does this have to do with what TT and vanhorn are doing now??
Vanhorn when with the nets refused to play SF when asked by his coach.
he said that he only wanted to play PF and when he was traded to 76ers
they kind of forced him to play SF. So what?? They are both spoiled!

Tim Thomas is, or at least should be, a basketball player.
Players play where they are told to play. For ten millions
dollars a year, Thomas can play where he is told.

TT is a cry baby that doesn't do what his coach tells him to do.

That may be his best position, but if his coach tells him to play something
else, his job is to do what he's told to do. If TT has a problem with that,
he needs to be a coach.

As long you as understand that TT doesn't always do what his coach tells him
to do, and that he's willing to disrupt the entire team and lose a game
because of his immaturity. >> Stay informed about: T.Thomas 32 points, Marbury 14 Assists |

Let me reset what I said earlier in this thread, this trade was one
underperforming forward for another underperforming forward. Perhaps a
change of scenery will do them both good.
We understand that KVH hadn't lived up to expectations. That's why he was
available. But we don't need trolls coming in from the Knicks group telling
us what a loser KVH is while TT is going to take the Knicks to the promised
land, because as much of a loser KVH may have been, TT was every bit as much
of a loser, if not more.
KVH plays the #4 spot, which is a need for the Bucks. He is playing
alright, certainly as well or a little better than TT did. TT plays the #3
spot (and ONLY the #3 spot, based on his past actions). If that's a need
for the Knicks and he performs well, good for the Knicks! As Buck Fan, I am
happy with this deal.
We thought maybe getting rid of George Karl would help out TT. We got rid
of Big Dog a year ago so TT could start. We got rid of Ray Allen so maybe,
maybe, someone would pass the ball to TT. We got a good, young players
coach in Terry Porter. None of this seemed to make TT play up to his
abilities - which are enormous. If he can do so for the Knicks, then good
for TT and the Knicks. The Bucks tried everything possible to help this
guy, and he just didn't respond. Meanwhile KVH is an upgrade for our team
and I, for one, am happy with that. Is it too much for Knick Fan to think
that maybe, just maybe, BOTH teams benefited from this trade? >> Stay informed about: T.Thomas 32 points, Marbury 14 Assists |

What the basis of the assertion that Tim Thomas is a small
forward, and the dubious implication that Thomas is only a small
forward? I don't see small forward stenciled on to Thomas's
ass. Do you. Larry Johnson played a credible power forward and
Johnson was about four inches shorter than Thomas. Kurt Thomas
plays power forward, well, and Kurt is no taller than Tim.
Tim Thomas is perfectly capable, albeit if not willing, to play
power forward. If asked to do so, he should.

He was asked to do so. In the middle of a game. And he refused to go in.
Did he offer up a part of his paycheck for his little hissy fit strike?

This similar to what the Knicks did with Spree. Spree was a 2 guard and the
Knicks wasted him playing SF. He played it without complaint but it was
obvious he was out of position. Spree plays SG much better than small
forward. >> Stay informed about: T.Thomas 32 points, Marbury 14 Assists |

Not at all. Best wishes! Since we as fans have absolutely no effect on
the outcomes of trades. It is our duty to sit back and bitch and moan
since this is the only place our voices can be heard albeit to other
bitchers and moaners. >> Stay informed about: T.Thomas 32 points, Marbury 14 Assists |
