No no, not free. I took in my boss as a 50% partner on my season seats
two years ago. I no longer live in Toronto, and it wasn't realistic to
expect to attend 41+ games any more. So the first year, we split up the
tickets. This year I gave him control for the season because I was busy
with other stuff. I am the subscriber of record, but his name is also on
the account.
As you know, subscribers have the option to purchase additional playoff
seats. I have always bought lower bowl seats in section 121 for the
playoffs and sold my 300 level seats. But this year I decided not to
exercise my option, and I left the balcony seats in my boss' hands,
which is only fair since he paid for every game this season but two.
He actually gave me those two games (Spurs, Magic) as a gesture of
thanks, but I insisted he let me pay for them. Those were the only games
I attended this year.
Oh yeah, re the promotion, I actually *was* promoted by him a couple
years before we formed the partnership and he's no longer my boss. We're
both the same rank. I just call him that from force of habit. You know,
like players always say, "coach". :)
