just when you thought they couldn't stink more.....the blazers get
creative

now I know the Sonics were hot but I'd bet Seattle put up 20 shots in
the 4th Q and OT where no Blazer was within 10 feet....and none were
running at the shooter.

this is the worst blazer defensive team I've ever seen and I remember
the Wicks era.

and their offense isn't much better

the blazer backcourt duo has to spend more time dribbling then any
other twosome in the league....it's probably not even close....and 90%
of the time the dribbling is around the perimeter instead of towards
the basket (maybe that's good....when Damon drives to the basket, a
turnover is the most likely result)

Zach's idea of passing out of a double team is apparently to use his
foot to pass it out of bounds

seems like every game I see lately, Cheeks looks like he wishes he was
elsewhere

can't blame him really.....the blazers sre pretty dull entertainment

I think Rasheed has defined this team : "sign the check"

Yes he was. McInnis got injured anyway. But patterso was screwing up with
turnovers. Blazers at that point needed to keep scoring more, there was no
stopping Allen, so perhaps Person would have been a good idea.

Sam always shows up to give a great breakdown, accurate one, after a bad
loss. Never seems to do the same for a nice win but I love him anyway.

Man you know nothing about his background huh?

Grew up playing in a black neighborhood on the streets of NYC....when he got
into it with ';Sheed it was said it took several players to pull Dunleavy
away.... been there done that with 'Sheed' Cheeks being a friend is just the
kind of coach to get the best for him. 'Sheed has always done more from
desire than force.

um..I think you have that a little wrong there. In an interview he did on
tv, he said that people hold back Rasheed, and he was right there, standing.
Said he did it to provoke Sheed.

I do not know which is right but others that were there said they had to
drag Dunleavy away to keep him from fighting....

Anyway he was a tough player from a tough background. word was he wanted
tighter discipline and was overruled.

I thought they would still make the playoffs at somewhere between the
6th and 8th spots, but Memphis, Utah, and Denver have all done better
so far than I expected. And I didn't expect the Blazers to be this bad
on the road either.

I don't really follow the college game much either. I know there is one
center getting some hype but he is a high school guy.

Well, there's the "Russian Bear" who pulled out of the draft last year,
but he could go in the top five. And some 18 year old Korean who is really
really tall. But overall it looks like this year's draft won't be as good
as last year's.

I think the best all around game he did (he was making smart plays, saves,
rebounds, etc, in the first half) but his best game was against the Twolves
when he scored 20.

It's frustrating how they go to him and he's hot..and then they just stop
going to him, and have people who have no business shooting 3's, shooting
3's.

He is more likely to hold out for another head coach position. And players
come to him, he runs a drug rehab as is a recovered druggie himself. Damon
flew to Texas and spent the summer with him after the arrest in Arizona.
Lucus came back to Portland with Damon for his press conference at the start
of camp.

No, he wasn't drafted. He was in training camp with the Knicks and they
apparently liked him, but they had a crowded roster so he got cut and
then Portland picked him up to back up Bonzi after they realized DA was
going to be out for a while.

I cheated and went to nbadraft.net just now. The guy's name is Josh Howard
from Atlanta and they have him projected as the #1 pick.

And check out the guy they show as Portland's potential pick - he's a
Russian living in Canada, 7-1 but he plays SG and SF. I can just see the
whole "swingman" debate starting up all over again.
