Barring GS makes a trade for a starting PG, does this trade make sense?
Zach Randolph and Nate Robinson for Al Harrington, Brandon Wright, and CJ
Watson.
The main players in the deal are the Knicks players and Harrington and
Wright, Watson just evens out the salaries.
GS gets a pretty good rebounder and post player in Randolph, and a PG to
replace Davis for a season or possibly Ellis if he goes to another team.We
get Harrington who probably fits D's system better than Randolph. Not sure
if Randolph really fits in with GS and Don Nelsons wide open style, but they
still have Nellie's fav in Jackson to run with and Nate would do well in a
system like GS's. Nate also seems to be maturing a bit IMO over his rookie
season (well he couldn't be more of a baby, that's for sure).
I know a lot of stuff would have to not happen trade wise for GS to even
consider this, but this may be a last option if nothing else works for
Mullin.
We could also replace Nate with Lee which would be more favorable to GS and
give them a F who would compliment Jackson. >> Stay informed about: Trade with GS |

Sorry, GS would need to add Belinelli to make the trade work salaries wise.
I think that would kill the deal as GS has very little team left if they
value Belinelli. >> Stay informed about: Trade with GS |

Well, GS can always offer their 2nd round pick, that will solve the
salary problem. >> Stay informed about: Trade with GS |

I think Nate is not the kind of PG Nelson likes. Maybe Collins is more
similar to Baron Davis?
Big PG with playmaking instinct. Zach does not fit Nelson's run'n gun
style. It has to be seen if they have any interest in him.

Wright is simply too valuable to be included.The others may be ok.
Maybe a sign&trade with Pietrus/Barnes? >> Stay informed about: Trade with GS |

No chance:
1. Mullin is too smart to take Randolph's contract;
2. Randolph's too slow to play in Nellie's system, even if #1 was
wrong;
3. GS has no use for Robinson with Ellis on board;
4. No way Mullin would give up two valuable players (Harrington and
Wright) for two essentially worthless players. Even if Harrington
doesn't fit with GS any more, he's still got more value to the rest of
the league than THAT.
> GS gets a pretty good rebounder and post player in Randolph,
Already got Biedrins, who's a better one.

Nate is no PG. Otherwise we'd have used him ourselves.

That's a little bit more sensible, but right now GS is going to be
looking for PGs. Lee and Biendrins have almost the same game, anyway
(and Biedrins is better). >> Stay informed about: Trade with GS |

Just like Jerome James is similar to Patrick Ewing in his prime.

Neither Pietrus nor Barnes are still on GS's roster. >> Stay informed about: Trade with GS |

Not sure if Pietrus and Barnes can be traded. They were not selectable on
RealGM's trade checker. >> Stay informed about: Trade with GS |

Of course, but I meant the KIND of player, not the value.

I know they are UFA, but GS must have their Bird right, so they can
sign&trade them to facilitate a trade scenario. >> Stay informed about: Trade with GS |

No. Barnes was let go last year, and Pietrus just signed with
Orlando. >> Stay informed about: Trade with GS |
