UCONN looked totally flat last night, worse than I've ever seen them.
On the other hand, ND played a great game, especiall Battest and
Severe. First time I've seen them this season and it's hard to
believe they came in at 8-6.
I haven't read anything about the game yet but the UCONN players
looked emotionally exhausted right from the start.

They came in ready to play and UCONN did not. They have been playing flat
lately in their games ever since the Duke loss. I hope that they snap out of
it since they meet Boston College on Saturday and Rutgers on Monday.

So what happened to the "We got Diana and you don't." mantra?

Guess she's human after all.
Here's the silver lining from my perspective. Now maybe they'll keep their cool
new silver uniforms. Because right now they're down to only home whites if they
intend on never wearing outfits that they've lost in. >> Stay informed about: ND/UCONN |

We still have Diana and you don't. I like our chances in March with
her.

The silver uniforms make it very hard to read the numbers from any
distance away. They wore home whites with silver numbers at the start
of the year and even the TV announcers were complaining about how hard
it was to make out the numbers. I hope they dump anything with silver
on it in consideration of those of us who are old and blind. <G>

Outside of Storrs, we always knew that DT was *not* a deity, no pun
intended.

And.....
Duke still has Jessica, and you don't and...Notre Dame has Battest and
you don't. >> Stay informed about: ND/UCONN |

<<it's hard to believe they came in at 8-6.<<
Maybe it is because ND played Top 25 ranked teams Auburn, Colorado,
Michigan State, Tennessee, and Purdue. UConn played only Duke as a
ranked team. >> Stay informed about: ND/UCONN |

Though you have to admit that your "chances" looked much better in December
than it does now in January!

Why? Where's your rationale for that conclusion?

There are a few reasons to think this -
1. Diana seems to be battling a chronic sore back or something of that ilk. It
isn't going to get any better until she rests
2. Other UConn injuries make their short bench even shorter
3. -and by far the most important - the last 10 minutes of the Duke game gave
every other team the blue print for how to beat them. Press and trap, force
folks like Barbara Turner and Maria Colon to pass the ball under heavy
pressure.
Only the elite teams will have the athletes to do this effectively, but there
are enough f those out there to make UConn's road to another NC a daunting one. >> Stay informed about: ND/UCONN |
