Newbie alert!!!

I am really looking forward to a good season of College Basketball this
year. Personally, I am a UT Lady Vols fan and season ticket holder. They
looked pretty good today against the Lady Techsters (Lousiana Tech).
Though, I must admit, we really need to work on our guard play (where are
you, Kara Lawson?).

I think that this year is going to see more evenly balanced teams (evidence,
Top 4 Duke and Texas have lost already, Connecticut has already been tested,
Tennessee is not where they would like to be yet).

Opinions?

It's hard to get a read for her performance from ESPN.com. How has she
taken to the team, and how have the fans taken to her? She's a presence
like no other!!!

She plays and acts a lot like she did at TN, which is a refreshing
change from the norm in the WNBA. I was at her first game and she took
over as soon as she entered-yet she didn't do anything different from
what she'd been doing for years at TN. During the season she wasn't
getting enough PT from the coach but after that coach was fired she got
more PT and the team did better too. The fans like her enthusiasm, and
ability.

Welcome!

Tenn is one of those teams that reloads every year. I fully expect to see them
in the Final Four this year.

Tennessee will fall to Stanford this coming Sunday, Dec 14th, at Maples
Pavilion.

GO CARDINAL!

Well, if they do it will be one of the bigges wins for the Cardinal in a while.
Should be a great game, I'm really glad it's on TV

Me too.
Funny. Stanford fans are really nice, reasonable people, except for once a year
when they are transformed into woofers just before the Card play the Lady Vols.
In reading around the 'Net last night, I came across an analysis projecting
that Stanford would win because it is more talented and experienced in the
post.
Evidently they don't think much of Shyra Ely, Ashley Robinson and Tye'sha
Fluker. We'll see.
I just looked at some numbers, and Shanna Z (or Sha-Zam!, as the fans under the
home basket are calling her) is shooting 62 percent from the floor. Working
out with Golden Gloves trainer Ace Miller over the summer seems to have helped
her with strength and footwork, and her teammates are doing a better jop of
getting her open to shoot.
That being said, don't know who will win this game Sunday. Stanford is overdue
to get us, but it's not my habit to bet against my Lady Vols, so I'm thinking
we have an outside chance of hanging with them.

I don't know it it was intentional, but I think you're being a bit too
humble when you say "I'm thinking
we have an outside chance of hanging with them." You're talking about the
2nd ranked team in the country. I was just playing with you guys because
this one is going to be like a coin-toss. Could go either way. Stanford is
hard to beat at Maples but the Lady Vols have a much better team on paper.

I always root for Tennessee though when you play UConn. Problem is you guys
have *not* been able to beat them in a few years. Urgh! But then again, no
one has been able to beat them in a while except for Villanova. I hope this
year will be different. Can't wait for February 5.

I don't know how we are going to play but if we play like we did last
night we are in trouble but again when the other team gets ahead of us
they just dig in and go on a long shotting streack and beat the last 2
team's.If we play like we are suppose to play we will have a good chance
of beating stanford

I think the Lady Vols have a great chance. Stanford has only played 1 good
team so far and that was No 10 ranked Georgia, with probably one of the best
tandem in the country of Christi Thomas and Kara Braxton. Stanford led most
of the way by as much as ~15 points but the Georgia put up a furious rally
in the second half and only lost by 2 points, 61-59. Stanford seems to have
a problem of putting good teams away and UT certainly qualifies as a good,
if not very good, team.

Looks like Standford still has trouble putting the good teams away. But I
have to give it to Pat she knows how to coach and get things done.I
think with more time and playing together these women could really
become a great team. There is no one on the bench who can not come in and
score or rebound. And this is one of the biggest at blcking shots. And
these women know that with the talent she has coming in next year they
well have to prove themselves.Only thing I can say is The BIG ORANGE is
going to be really heard from for the next 5 tears for sure.
