WNBA playoffs: Sacramento Monarchs at Los Angeles Sparks [R] - Bad news for fans. The Los Angeles Sparks won the second game of their epic WNBA Western Series with the Monarchs. They beat the Monarchs something AWFUL! I really can't say it was because L.A. played with all the..

WNBA playoffs: Minnesota Lynx at Los Angeles Sparks [R] - This wasn't the same Lynx team that got chased out of Staples a week ago. The Lynx were 0-4 during the regular season against the Sparks but three of those losses were by 3 points, 1 point, and 4 points. People forget that. A two point win..

Observations on the 7/5/03 Storm vs. Sparks game in L.A. - If people thought jersey grabbing in the WNBA would end with Sue Wicks' be advised that new players have emerged to take jersey grabbing to even higher levels. Lauren Jackson for one would put Sue Wicks to shame. I don't think Lisa Leslie..

Los Angeles Sparks... - tied a WNBA record by hitting 27 of 27 free throws in a game against the Phoenix Mercury today. Sparks won 82-65. Lisa Leslie is still out. She has missed 5 games now. Rookie guard Shaquala Williams has been a pleasant surprise filling in for the..

Rockers at Sparks: July 7, 2003 - It was too bad The Rockers lost this game. Rarely have I seen a team come in and play as hard as they did against the Sparks. In 2001, for example, teams would show up for games against the Sparks in Los Angeles already beaten mentally and just go..

Much better game by the Monarchs than the second game yesterday.

Unfortunately, for all the "anti-Sparks" and "Anybody but the Sparks"
people, the Los Angeles team won again. But just barely.

What can I say, these things happen, just like in the other pro basketball
league.

I noticed a number of Monarchs fans at Staples Center for the third game
that came down from Sacramento to support their team. I assume they came
down from Sacramento. Heaven forbid that there are Monarchs fans in Los
Angeles ;) There were a lot of empty seats at Staples for the third game.
If enough Monarchs fans had made the trip to Los Angeles, they would have
outnumbered the Sparks fans and negated the supposed home court advantage.

I'll say this: I think there would have been a much bigger and more
boisterous crowd for the first game of the WNBA finals at Arco Arena than
there will be in the Staples Center.
