Announced crowd of 16,000, man a bunch of Halloween ghosts must have showed
up.... couldn't been more than 10,000 butts in the seats. Pacers player more
inspired than I've seem them in 2 years and at the end of the game and
during the OT the slim crowd made themselves heard.
No Pacers dogged it, only a few stupid plays, this is a game we wouldn't
have won last year, but the Pacers had more energy in OT. The up-tempo run &
gun style fits Dunleavy & Flimsley to a T. Great opening night win
considering no O'Neal, Murphy or Williams. If they play this hard every game
it'll be a much better season than the last 2 years.

I was encouraged by their play against a good Wizards team. If only
Tinsley played at the end of the season like he does at the beginning.
This is Granger's 3rd year (?) and I think he should be settling in
and finding his game. I'm hopeful he's a superstar in the making.

Dunleavy, who I've always liked, should be more comfortable (as will
be Murphy) now that they've had a training camp with the team.

This is Harrison's 3rd year as well. It is time he stepped it up and
take some of the pressure off of Jeff Foster.

They get the Heat next. That should be interesting.

That was the best game I've seen the David "the human foul" Harrison play as
a Pacer. One thing I noticed early in the game about O'Brien and Harrison,
DH threw a shoulder into the O-man as he slashed through the lane. That was
Harrison's first foul and he walked straight to the bench before O'Brien got
somebody up. Obviously they had discussed stupid fouls and their
ramification, and Harrison didn't make a dumb foul the rest of the game.
With Harrison's size, arm length and speed, O'Brien's style of play is what
he is built for. I've got great expectations for him this year, IF he can
get over the stupid fouls which in time will change the referee's quick
whistle on him. His block on Butler(think that who it was), pinning the ball
against the backboard swung the whole OT momentum to the Pacers.
Regarding the Heat, terrible pre-season, Wade is out, and they'll be coming
off a back-back with Detroit tonight.

Pistons showed how bad the Heat really are without D'Wade in the
lineup. Shaq was practically useless due to the defensive scheme the
Pistons had. Alonzo was effective but he can't be out there the whole
game and he can't be the whole team. Pacers need to put a body on
Ricky Davis when he's in the game otherwise he'll torch them.
