After seeing them play Memphis last night maybe there'll be some excitement
this season, I don't have my hopes up for post season play but at least it
appears they'll be entertaining. I like the up-tempo game and they pushed
the ball down the court more last night than they did all season under
Carllily. There were a several moments they even displayed flashes of desire
to play scrappy defense, although this wasn't sustained albeit 115 points
given up to the Grizzlies.
The faster pace should take some of the scoring load off O'Neal and last
night was the first time in 2 years I didn't have to watch the throw it down
to JO-stand around-while the D collapses offense. One glaring weakness is no
legitimate center, not seeing any improvement with Murphy and Foster
platooning over last year. Hopefully the Doctor of Fouls, Harrison will
show something this year as I think we'll need 3 players to cover the center
position.

That's encouring news. I haven't seen them play yet but have been
following the post season box scores. I'm still not sold on O'Brien
as a coach, but I'll at least give him the whole season to make me a
believer.

Foster and Murphy at Center can't be a good thing. Murphy is really
better playing the PF spot and Foster is getting old and I'll bet his
back isn't getting any better. They drafted Harrison to be the future
center of the Pacers and that just hasn't worked out yet. My guess is
this will be his last season to prove whether he's their man or not.

O'Brien brought Dick Harter back to help with the "D". He was on the bench
when Bird coached and I thought he had more to do with their success than
Bird, even though Bird naturally got the credit.

that talks about the Memphis game.
