1. Zack Randolph is the best player on the team. He blew up his knee and
had a surgery that far as I can remember no one has ever returned from at
100% pre-injury effectiveness.

2. Darius Miles is a complete jerk and head case. Obvious coach killer.

3. Sebastian Telfair is a young athletic point guard fresh out of high
school. Guys #1 and 2 above...don't like him. This is a bad thing.

4. Derek Anderson may be the worst shooting shooting guard in the NBA. His
best contribution the past two years has been missing games.

5. Shareef Abdur Rahim is the kind of guy that you should be building a team
around. He is a free agent.

6. The Blazers salary level is just stupid for being such a bad team.

Nate said he just wasn't excited about being with Seattle anymore.
Well...he just took over a basket case of a team. I guess he will find out
how exciting it is to lose 60 games next season.

It was a bone bruise not a blown out knee.

Not like he is a high flyer anyway...

They can give nate a 2X4?

This is a bad thing.

Where did that come from?

And one OT game against the kings....With a little luck they waive him...

He is too old to build a team around. Besides which...how have the teams
built around him done so far?

So how about Outlaw, patterson, Theo Ratliff. Joel Pryzbilla, Khyrapa, Ha
and the rookies Webster, Jack, and Monia. Surely you can find more sour
grapes in there?

Might want to peep it and what they are doing there. If they waive NVE and
trade patterson for an ending contract they should be able to drop under the
cap next summer to resign Joel.

Perhaps..perhaps they will not be as bad as you predict.... If you are right
he can cry on his way to the bank.

Which after Oregon Income Taxes should put him right around where he would
have been in Seattle. This isn't sour grapes. Just pointing out that he
left a potential title contender for the draft lottery.

Can you answer that? That he does not get along with Zach and Miles?

Nope. I answered that elsewhere.

I think the sonics will be short of a true contender but you are certainly
right in the basic idea. Perhaps he did not figure the sonics would acheive
above expectations or live up to the new ones. He knows he is going to a
rebuilding team that may take awhile to get to the playoffs, just perhaps he
can overacheive with them too, because I think they are not as bad or as far
from making the playoffs as you are making out....

I agree here. I don't think the Sonics will be a true title contender,
and they may very well have taken a half-step back even had McMillan
returned. Not only will the Sonics likely lose at least one contributor
to free agency (Radmanovic, James, and Daniels are all possibilities or
probabilities), but they got career years out of a bunch of guys last
season and some unreal chemistry. I think they'll need to re-adjust a
little this off-season before really hitting their stride and hopefully
being true contenders for several seasons after this next year.

And really, getting a new coach and a new voice in might not be a bad
thing for that process.

I'll definitely be paying even closer attention to the Blazers next
year, that's for sure. Even beyond the Nate and Martell angle, I love
watching the development of talented young players, and the Blazers
definitely have a few there. And I really like watching Zach Randolph
play - on the offensive end, anyway.

Cheers,

That's good, cause that is the only end he plays on....
