Dumars just two days ago was rumored to be seeking the services of Baron
Davis. That came to an end today when Davis became an LA Clipper. The
notation to view is that Joe's seeking a point guard and a damn good
one.
It also means we are soon to part ways with Chauncy Billups, guess mr
big shot came up short. It shouldn't be hard to see that a deal can
still be made for Chauncy and Iverson to be switched. Billups gets to
go home and A I gets a chance with a legit contender and a fascinating
back court mate in Hamilton.

If Iverson is so much better why would Denver part with him?

If Iverson is so good why does he have to leave Denver to find a contender?

Besides, word I hear out of Denver is that they may be shopping
Carmelo and hanging on to Iverson. Maybe Webbie you should just move
to Denver where you can be near your man crush Iverson. And why not
post to alt.sports.basketball.nba.denver-nuggets instead of here?

The NBA is about marketability. Iverson can't win a title by himself
and thus offers little to the needs of Denver. The Nuggets know they
aren't competitive in the west in the near future so why not get Billups
a native son to draw an audience.

Iverson can best serve Detroit being that we have an established core
and can challenge for a title run with a legit all star. Face it, it's
not about talent any more ratings are a concern.
We need a feature player. A I fits that billing, and our cast around
him would promise a title shot!

Carmello can't come East he can't play defense. Anthony isn't the
missing ingredient for the Detroit Pistons.

We need a point guard who's swift and also a scorer. Iverson fits that
bill, plus he's a star and that's good for ratings. Detroit would no
longer be a blue collar team.

we also need a center, Sheed's not him, he's a power forward.

Bad news for Webie Darling:
http://blog.mlive.com/fullcourtpress/2008/06/espn_denver_rejects_carmelo_an.html

Denver countered with an offer of Allen Iverson or a package built around
Marcus Camby, but the Pistons are only interested in Anthony.

http://www.detnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080623/OPINION03/8...30344/1
Two weeks ago, news leaked out of Denver that the Nuggets were interested in
acquiring Billups. Denver vice president of basketball Mark Warkentien
called Pistons president Joe Dumars to apologize for the leak and a
conversation ensued.

Warkentien confirmed that the Nuggets were interested in Billups and asked
who the Pistons might be interested in. Dumars said Anthony. As the
conversation progressed, Dumars added Prince to the discussion because,
obviously, Prince plays the same position as Anthony.

Warkentien said the Nuggets weren't looking to trade Anthony at that time,
and asked if Dumars would be interested in Marcus Camby or Allen Iverson.
Dumars said no. If the Nuggets wanted Billups, then they were going to have
to give up Anthony.

Got tissue?
