Thanks! I've got the same feeling! As Kareem said to the Boston
fans in a note thanking them for giving him an ovation when he set a
scoring records, "See you next June."

Thanks man! After the first few rounds of the playoffs who would have
thought it? The Lakers are a great team, but the Celtics are indeed the
BEST team this year! I'm glad you finally changed the bottom line of your
post as it should be ;). Here's to many epic battles between our 2 teams
next year, and into the future!!!

GO CELTICS!!!

GREEN MA-CHINE.... GREEN MA-CHINE....GREEN MA-CHINE!!!!!

Congratulations Celtics from a Laker fan. I have been following the
Lakers for more than 40 years. Your team has been more than a worthy
opponent. Enjoy your championship title. You earned it.

I think the Celtics will. I doubt the Lakers will.

Actually, the biggest worry that we have is that the Lakers will be
back in the Finals next year...and a different team will be waiting
for us there.

The basketball gods have been kind to the Lakers as far as granting
championships. Where they haven't been kind is granting the Lakers
revenge opportunities after they lose (i.e. '89 Pistons, '91 Bulls,
'04 Pistons...). It won't mean as much if the Lakers take it
against, say, LeBron's team (although we've got scores to settle with
the Pistons too, so if we can't get you guys again, we'll take the
Pistons).

So enjoy your championship, stay healthy, and make sure you get back
to the Finals next year. We'll be waiting.

The Celtics have some good young players who will likely improve next
year.
But then, the Lakers have some decent young players as well who will
likely improve.
Our second best player has only been with us for half a season. And
our potentially best starting 5 have never played together.

If Kobe comes back with a chip on his shoulder and having learned a
good lesson this season about trusting teammates, and if they stay
relatively injury-free, I expect another Lakers appearance in the
finals. This time with hopefully better defense. Unless the other
Eastern Conference teams get their act together, its likely the
Celtics will return to the finals as well.
If that does happen, we will certainly be looking forward to it, and
you will probably not like the outcome.

Go Lakers!

oh yeah, congratulations on the win.

I'm not worried about Kobe. I hope the rest of the Lakers, however,
come into 2008-2009 with a vengeance. Like I said earlier in the
week, they've got to show from the first exhibition game to the moment
the '09 trophy is theirs that they are on a mission.

>This time with hopefully better defense.

God, yeah. That was their downfall in the Finals.

I can't see any other Eastern Conference team making it out. I think
the Pistons are done for the decade. LeBron's team isn't ready.
Nobody else is even close.

It'll be like the 1980s, hopefully. Lose one first, then win the next
two.

Course, we might have to eat a Western Conference Finals loss to the
Rockets somewhere in between...

*********************************************************

To do that, your team will need to find a recipe of something other than
"give it to Kobe". And they'll need a COMPLETE overhaul in defense. Half
your team doesn't even understand the concept of defense. I really don't
understand how they got to the finals this year. They were not a worthy
opponent.
