Sue Bird would have won the bet with the Seattle area DJ. She finished the
year with 221 assists to 110 turnovers; a ratio ever so slightly better than
2:1.

What would have been her prize?

They guy would have bought season's tickets to the Storm next year.

Sue Bird made a dumb bet. If she had lost, she would have had to do
something stupid and personally embarrassing.
All the DJ or Shock Jock or whatever had to do was buy Storm season tickets
if he lost. If would have been far more interesting if he had to do
something equally stupid and embarrassing at say the opening game of the
2004 Storm season, if front of the crowd if he lost. Then it would have
been a fair bet. As it was, it was lopsidedly in his favor.

Sue Bird does not impress me as being very smart, regardless of her media
image. Sheryl Swoopes never would have made that kind of bet. Lisa Leslie
would have used this guy as a towel boy.

Actually, the bet had two parts. Sue Bird would have lost part two.

If her assist to turnover ration was 3-1, he had to buy the season tickets. If
it was less, she got spanked. If it was under 2-1 then she had to say, "harder
Daddy harder."

So, she'd have gotten spanked but didn't have to say anything.

That said, I disagree with your final statement. Swoopes and Leslie would have
probably turned the bet into something else, but neither would have used the
guy as a towel boy.
