It has been a great year in women;s basketball.Look at how the women are
playing for larger crowds than most of the men's games around the
country. And look how the women are doing, no really number one team. You
take any of the top 20 team's and they could win it all this year.It
just depends who is playing the best ball and after watching this
week-end rounds it is all up in the air for who will take it all.Just
like John Wooten said women's baskball is the purest game.I have not
watched a single men's game it has been the women's game that i like.

Has anyone else seen Frank DeFord's column in Time Magazine suggesting that
the women's NCAAs be moved to February to avoid sharing the spotlight with
the men's series? Would the women's series get even better ratings if it
didn't have to compete with the men's?

I presume the season would start earlier as well, with the first games in mid-
to late October. (Most Division I hockey teams begin their schedules about this
time, so there is a winter sports precedent.)

I wouldn't necessarily rule it out, although that would probably keep the
finals on cable TV (if broadcast TV wouldn't air the women's finals in
primetime in March, what makes anyone think it would be aired in primetime
during February sweeps?).
