It's really too bad I don't like my girlfriend much. She got me tickets
to the Denver game last year that Aroyo won as the buzzer sounded, and
she got me (and her family) tickets to the San Antonio game tonight.
I told the guys at work that I "have to go watch a Jazz massacre" as I
walked out. Of course we all thought they had no chance. But instead,
this team of youthful losers shows up and plays with excellent
efficieny, matches the mighty Spurs point-for-point, makes just enough
defensive stops, and actually scores the winning point. (Again, as the
buzzer sounds.)
It's fun to feel like you were a part of it, adding your noise to the
team's energy.

"We should not march into Baghdad. ... Assigning young soldiers to
a fruitless hunt for a securely entrenched dictator and condemning
them to fight in what would be an unwinnable urban guerilla war, it
could only plunge that part of the world into ever greater
instability." George Bush Sr. in his 1998 book "A World Transformed"
