I have learned that the Clippers' offer to the Knicks for Zach
Randolph last week was much more audacious than first suspected. In
addition to Randolph, they wanted the Knicks to send them a first-
round pick and $3 million in exchange for Brevin Knight. The Knicks
said no.

Agreed. The Knicks can't afford to send any more lottery picks to
other teams.
Well done Walsh.

It's hard to say what was really offered... which story is true? I
don't know. But if that was the deal it's pretty tough to criticize
his refusal...

I don't know if it is unfair. That might be what it takes in the end
to dump Zach's contract. I would rather see a deal where we get back a
first rounder if we have to give one, even if it is conditional and we
don't see it for another three years, but right now, I like that Walsh
is not jumping at lop sided offers. That was really a losing
proposition if there wasn't a 2010 FA bonanza.

Both rumors could be true...perhaps that was the starting point for the
clips and
we have heard that the Knicks wanted the clips current lottery pick Eric
Gordan for Zach...
So perhaps the final offer from the clips was a 2nd round pick for Zach.

We likely shall never know.
