are you going to be a fan of the team that gets him or stay with the
t-wolves? i was crushed when george gervin was traded to the bulls. the
team wasn't making the playoffs anymore and he wasn't what he used to
be. still, i was a spurs fan to the end, even in the dreadful 80's.

of course, garnett still hasn't gotten to his prime, imo. i'd be pissed
if duncan was traded after a couple unsuccessful seasons.

Probably a little of both.

Just like right now I'm rooting for Flip Saunders to win a championship
with Detroit this season. I liked Flip as a coach, and even though I'm
still a Wolves fan...I'll be cheering Flip and the Pistons on during the
playoffs.

If KG leaves the Wolves, I'll still like him as a player...but I'll also still be
a Wolves fan, like I have been since they began.

I'm glad you know where you stand, araxen, because I don't
have a good handle on where I would stand on a post-KG
Wolves team.

For myself, this question raises a lot of issues. I like seeing the
best go at each other, and I like watching teams strive to develop
into the best. But I have a hard time grasping heedless loyalty to
some corporate logo (or even a scholastic one).

If it becomes clear that the Wolves choose not to strive to become
one of the best, well, I for one, will lose interest. I used to be a
season ticket holder for the Nuggets until it became obvious that
they were, as an organization, not striving to win.

Understandable.

I consider myself a Wolves fan, but frankly I lost a lot of
interest in the team this season when it became clear that
Casey was not taking them in any new directions.

I tend to be a fan of the game first, and a local fan second.

I've still watched quite a few NBA games this season, but many
of them have not included the Timberwolves.

Just like with baseball. I'm a Twins fan, but I also like to see
other top players play the game...well, except for the Yankees...
I make an exception there and will not watch them unless it is
to watch another quality team beat them. ;-)
