O'Neal is no longer being shopped so it's gonna be the same team with a new
coach. What does Bird & Walsh see that I'm missing. I can't honestly predict
this team will go +.500 or make the play-offs. Maybe they'll be giving away
rose colored glasses instead of towels, poster and umbrellas.

O'Neal seems placated with the direction he believes the Pacers are
now going in and is happy to remain a Pacer. That's a good thing.
But, are Kareem Rush, Travis Diener, Stephen Graham and Andre Owens
the answer? Frankly, the only one I'm the least bit familiar with is
Kareem Rush who I think is a good addition. But can he fit in with
Mike Dunleavy, Danny Granger, Shawne Williams, Marquis Daniels (off
the bench) and J.O.? And are we going to have to keep Jamal Tinsley
at point or will Rush take that spot with Jamal coming off the bench?
They drafted Stanko Barac out of Bosnia for the Center position but
haven't signed him yet. So that means we go with either David
Harrison at center or play Jermain there with someone else at PF.

I guess I have more questions than answers and only seeing what group
gets on the floor and seeing how they play under new coach O'Brien
will quench my curiosity.

Diener has some game and has played well when he's been given more than
10 minutes to do anything. Between Diener and JJ Reddick, I'd probably
take Diener though that may be damning with faint praise...

Rush can shoot the 3 pretty well but that's it. At PG he'd be a
disaster. I suspect that Diener might get some minutes there but I have
no idea if he can handle it -- the Magic nearly always at a PG or
tweener in the game with him (whether Nelson, Dooling or Arroyo).

Rush has never been a PG. He was a smallish 2G at best. It's going
to be a long season. Wait until you get a full season of Troy Murphy
defending the rim and Dunleavy bricking jumper after jumper. Frankly
I don't know what Bird and Walsh are doing. Their best move is to
blow it up by trading JO and stockpiling picks, but who makes the
picks? They haven't been all that hot with the draft picks. I feel
for ya, Pacer fan....
