Was not on TV. First quarter the starters more than sucked. Denver started 8-0 in 2 minutes. Zach
was 1-7 and played about 5 minutes. Roy was 2-7 U think Denver outscored them 31-19. 2nd quarter
the line-up was Raef, Sergio, martell, Mags and dixon. They ran Sergio scored, passed, stole the
ball and the blazers started the quarter on a 18-2 run finished at 37-18. Everyone was hitting 3s
that quarter.

2nd half Denver stared on a 20-0 run for 7 or 8 minutes maybe it was higher.....Zach was back out
just as fast. bench back in Quarter was 41-17 denver. 4th quarter both teams were bad and played
about even. Denver wins 109-93.

Zach was 1-12 5 rbs 4 pts.... the starters 5-30....
Sergio ended up 23 pts on 11-14 4 rbs 10 assists 4 TOs but one was the last second of the game. 3
steals
Webster was 4-8 3-7 on 3s. 4 rbs 3 stls
Dixon had 15 pts on 5-11 3-6 on 3s

Frickin' Steve Blake was 23 pts on 9-13 5-7 on 3s...
AI was 32 pts 9 asts 6 TOs...

This does not cover team defense or guards getting past him...but shows what their position
opponents have done against them. So where would you think Zach would rank in this stat?

Doug's Defensive Rankings Explaination
The 'TND' fields is really just my version of the Tendex rating system. Based on the approximate
Point-Per-Possession, each statistical category can be related to the game's scoring. Every time you
make a basket, you have made 2 points for your team. Every basket you miss, you lose possession, and
subsequently lose 1 point for your team (of course, if a team member gets an offensive rebound, that
player will gain possession, and 1 TND point).

Defensive Ratings only use traditional Defensive categories. This is added to a value for how the
player held their opponent in the offensive categories during the game. Players are matched up
defensively against the opposing position player. Starter against starter, bench against bench. A
value is calculated as to how the opposing player has done with offensive ranking during the game.
The difference of this value vs the player's offensive ranking for the season is the player's
ranking value for this game. The defensive ranking value is the sum of the traditional categories
plus how much they've held the opposing player under their offensive ranking value.

While I IN NO WAY, claim this stat to be an end-all way to rank all the players, I use it to give
another data point as to how well a player is contributing defensively to their team.

The current Defensive Ranking formula is:

((1.25*st + DRs + BKs - 2*ff - pf/2) + (Opponents Offensive difference)) / GamesPlayed

I'd guess around 5th or 6th......okay...I cheated....google strikes
again!

since magloire ranks 7th among centers I wonder if you're that big a
proponent of this system?

Chris Paul ranks first among PG's...I didn't see martel's or JJ's name
there

See Dougs note above... =)

But mags numbers are against the opponents bench centers, a rather poor lot league wide...zach
against starting PFs which are rather more impressive especially in the west.

Still shows how the other team's PF have done against him. If nothing else he often gets them in
foul trouble...

And there is something to be said about outscoring opponents:
Zach's per 40 min. points 26.3 His PF opponents 15.5 for +10.8

And 7th and 8th are minus stats...but a lot of it with the few defensive stats to work with does not
work well for PGs.
