Post subject: New kinematic and probabilist tool to analyse playing actions
Archived from groups: alt>sports>basketball>nba>utah-jazz (more info?)

Hi,

I'm french, so excuse me for my bad english...

During my thesis, I have concieved a tool for kinematic and probabilist
analyses of playing actions...

Abstracts in french and in english are available at :
http://caratome.free.fr/Quisommesnous/resumedethese.htm

My whole thesis is available at :
http://www.stef.ens-cachan.fr/docs/ziane_2004.pdf

I am ready to study all serious buisness proposals.

Before, just an abstract of my last paper :

Title : Design of a program for straightening standard television pictures
taken from the stands. A preliminary stage to the kinematic study of team
sport playing actions.

Abstract : Since it is prohibited to film in high level competition, the
only images available to study playing actions are "televisual images
general public". These images which offer a point of view from the stands
are produced by moving cameras (i.e scanning and zooming). Under these
conditions, the precise localization on the ground of the players and the
ball is very difficult and prevents from studying their movements. To exceed
this obstacle, we conceived a program for automatic straightening of images
under Excel. New prospects appear in kinematic studies and in descriptions
of actions filmed from above.
