True. But they said the same thing last year when Ginobili came over
and Jackson started gettng big minutes. I have confidence in Pop's
ability to build a team defense mindset. And there's no one in the
league to better build a team defense around than #21. I figure the defense
will be 3-5 pts a game worse over the course of the season...but they
should more than make up for that with offensive improvement.
We'll see.

The most critical defensive move made was keeping Duncan at PF. With
him able to lend more help, they will always be a good defensive team.

Losing DRob and Jax will hurt their defense, though I did think that
Jax gambled too much. I know Hedo has a bad rep as a defender, but I
haven't watched him enough to know if it deserved, or just based on
him being a funny looking Euro.

Funny thing-Manu and Jax's defense was questioned last year-this year
Jax is being touted as a strong defender. And Manu showed that he
could play defense just fine.
