Really? He seems to me to be a career second stringer. I'd rather have
Eddie House.

What about Ronny?
He is a free agent.
Personally I say keep Ronny and lose Chris Mihm.
Ronny energizes the team with his attitude.
Chris has a long history of injuries.

Yup. Everyone is making Rad the fall guy, which is fine, since he's not
much of a player, other than his ability to sink a three every once in a
while; but, of more concern is Lamar Odom. This guy is supposed to be
our #3, and sometimes, #2 guy. Sorry, but he just doesn't cut it.
Also, Farmer was just as bad as Rad. Just awful in fact. ;-)

I'm convinced there are some players for whom hitting a few early
threes is the worst thing that could happen. They start "feeling it"
and keep jacking them up. Of course, they can't sustain the hot
streak, and wind up shooting themselves and possibly their team out of
their offense and even the game.

Kobe's one of those guys, and so was Antoine Walker. Allen Iverson's
another. I know from painful experience that Gary Payton is too. Not
trying to trash Kobe here - lots of guys who are great scorers but not
great shooters can fall into that trap.

Cheers,

I loved that game right from the start. Kobe came out hitting 3's and I
loved it. Kobe isn't a 3 point ace. Those shots were bound to start
missing and he was settling for long jumpers from the first the first
offensive possession of the game. In a game where LA needed to come and
physically assert themselves, draw fouls, give fouls, rebound, and drive, I
was just elated to watch him hit his first few long jumpers. It couldn't
have been scripted any better.

Funny. Early in the game when he hit those threes I felt the exact opposite
of what I used to feel when Walker started off that way... but for the exact
same reason as you mentioned. I'm not demoting Kobe to Walker status. But
it was that mindset of settling for jumpers in a game where he should have
tried to get to the basket early and often.

Excellent observation on Kobe. His best games rarely have started
outside and then later found ways to drive to the basket. Kobe does
need to get some rythm early with his shots but mostly he looks to get
his team mates going by breaking down defenses first. Against the C's
in that game 6, I believe his mindset was score..however he possibly
could and all credit to the Celts for playing great defense and
cutting off the seams. At times the celts defense looked as if they
were gambling by leaving some shooters open but they recovered so well
Kobe was often left with no one to pass to and difficult jumpers. Nice
hustling D that i'm sure a lot of WC teams have on tape now.
