| Yeah, it's quiet. It's just not even possible to enjoy the mini winning
streak right now. It's that pergatory where you know wins are actually
costing your team lottery balls. You can't root against them, but it
takes the sheen off of the wins you do get.

In this reporter's opinion, McHale's ineptness (and Taylor's
too) has killed any reasonable chance for the Wolves. And
he has bricked the team into a corner that they may never
get out of this decade. I'm sure that we don't even know a
tenth of the gaffes he's made.
It's painful, brutal even.
Without doubt, the saddest part is that he has basically
managed to waste Kevin Garnett. Waste his talents to
the point where last week Scottie Pippen called KG the
most overrated player in the league.

For who? Would the team be any better if they did?
And who can afford his contract - and $12M trade bonus
anyways? >> Stay informed about: Was that a pin dropping? |

Really? If anyone is ever looking for proof that Scottie Pippen has no clue
when it comes to evaluating basketball talent and value, that's exhibit A.
Sometimes, when I watch him bash several great players in the league, I
can't help but wonder if it's partly motivated by his own "back in my day"
bias...

How close are the Wolves to having to do a Shaq, i.e. trade him away for
clearly inferior talent but fewer $$, youth, and draft picks?

he's probably biased by the major questions asked about himself. like
why he never did anything without jordan or why he stayed out of that
game. it's sad that he's resorted to calling out players that carry
their teams the way he did for all of one season (94).

I've given up on the season. I agree with the anti-McHale sentiment.
Although I was upset, I was willing to give the trade a chance. Its'
pretty easy to so now how much this team misses Wally. Not only was he
a consistent offensive threat andbetter defender than Davis, he fit in
better with KG. They may not have liked each other and their
personalities didn't mesh, but basketball-wise they worked well
together. All that getting a bunch of slashers has done is take the
ball out of KG's hands and create a less efficient offense. The Wolves
needed to add a slasher to compliment KG and Wally, not get rid of
Wally and replace him with one.
The are only three hopes for the future. Either they strike it rich in
a weak lottery, are somehow able to unload Davis and Blount for serious
talent and/or Taylor decided he doesn't want to waste KG's final prime
seasons and decides to go after a superstar free agent (I haven't even
looked at who is available).
They also need to cut their losses with Casey. I wish they'd hired PJ.

Pippen is an expert on overrated players, since he's probably one of
the all time most overrated players. >> Stay informed about: Was that a pin dropping? |

well, back in november we said they could win between 28 and 32 games,
and unfortunately we were right.
Davis has been a disappointment, but I don`t miss Wally. I miss Flip
however. >> Stay informed about: Was that a pin dropping? |

Yep, another brutal loss. The Wolves are so sporadic, and
seemingly undisciplined, these days. Makes me wonder how long
Taylor will keep Casey around. Another season like this one
and both McHale and Casey MUST go.
Although, I know I'm preaching to the choir here about McHale.
What about Casey, though? I have seen very little this season to
make a case for him as being a qualified and competent NBA head
coach.
What do others here think?

What if the trade included an above average veteran player
or two and a possible future star? Or something along those lines?
I think it's time for the Wolves to seriously think about rebuilding from
the ground up.
I'd hate to see the KG era come to an end, but isn't it time for the
Wolves to do SOMETHING that moves them forward?

Brutal and painful is just the beginning for long suffering Wolves
fans. Always the bridesmaid and never bride. :-/

Ouch. When Pippen, of all people, starts calling others overrated...
that just adds insult to injury.
>> Any ideas for next season?

>Watch the Minnesota Wild?
LOL. Uh, no thanks. Not a very good story going on with them
now either...and besides, I kind of lost interest in the NHL after the
North Stars left, and I haven't really gotten back into it since.
On a bright side, I am a baseball fan and the MLB season is right
around the corner. The Twins have potential to go either way
this season...so it's time to raise those expectations again and
hope for the best. (After all, isn't that the mantra of MN sports fans?)
>Take McHale for lap dances on an Al and Alma's cruise?
There's an idea. Although, what self-respecting hooker would
want to get freaky with McHale?

I don't know, but there have to be some trade scenarios worth
considering. Although, given the last couple of seasons, KG's stock
won't be at it's peak value right now.
Typical Wolves fan problem...lots of questions, not many answers.

Sorry, gotta take my tiny bits of pleasure anywhere I can while
