Apologies for this not being the ideal group to post this perhaps,
but...when I was very young, I can remember watching international
basketball on TV with my dad (Olympics maybe, or some other
tournament), where it was legal to shoot from out of bounds on certain
inbounds plays. My searches in the current rules don't find this (and
I may not be looking in the right place).
Is it, or was it ever legal to shoot from out of bounds? Is this
documented on a link somewhere that one of you can provide for me? I
remember this vividly, so I don't think I'm crazy here.
Thanks in advance -

I've never seen it in basketball. Maybe you're confusing
it with soccer?
ICK! You made me say "soccer"! ARG! I did it again!

If I'm going to wait in line for three hours for a loaf
of bread, it had better be good bread.
