Any observations? Their 2nd half defense has been lackluster at best and
they have been searching for a point guard...no production out of
Holland-Corn or Canty/Lambert...

Also, too bad Maria Stepanova isn't going to help Phoenix in the
playoffs...she is committed to her Russia team until after the playoffs....

The team doesn't get much help from its back court. Holand-Corn is no longer
with the team. Age and injuries are catching up to Swoopes. They really,
really miss Arcain.

All adds up to not enought horses.

Van Chancellor devoted considerable time and energy during the season to the
US Olympic Team of which he was head coach. I think the Comets suffered as a
consequence.

I recall Nell Fortner didn't coach in the WNBA in 2000 because of her
commitment to coaching the U.S. Olympic basketball team that year. Most
other national teams for the US and for other countries usually require that
kind of commitment.

National team coach is a full-time job.
